CVMA Chapter 40-3 Honors America's Heroes with the Virginia Patriot Guard Riders and Dominion Honor Flight

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, a group of dedicated members from the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 40-3 partnered with the Virginia Patriot Guard Riders to conduct a very special "Welcome Home" ceremony presented by Dominion Honor Flight for veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. These men and women served our nation with courage and conviction. Yet, many of them returned home to little or no public recognition for their sacrifices. The ceremony served as a reminder that gratitude has no expiration date and that every veteran deserves to be welcomed home with respect and pride.

In attendance from Chapter 40-3 were Diewie, Miklo, and T-Wex, who stood proudly alongside other veterans, volunteers, and supporters, to welcome the returning heroes. It was quite an emotional scene as everyone stood to greet the veterans. Flags waved in the crisp morning air, families held signs of appreciation, and members of both organizations stood in formation to salute each arriving hero. The sound of engines and applause mixed with the quiet reverence that comes from standing in the presence of true American patriots.

For many of the veterans, the Dominion Honor Flight marked a long-awaited moment of acknowledgment. The Honor Flight program allows veterans to travel to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and to reflect on their shared experiences. For some individuals, the trip offers an opportunity to reconnect with fellow service members. For others, it is the first time they have received public praise for their service. The effect of recognition is powerful. A mere handshake, salute, or a few words of thanks can provide those who have long since held their memories within themselves with a long-overdue healing and closure.

For the members of CVMA Chapter 40-3, participation in this event represented the heart of their mission. The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association is based upon the belief of "Vets Helping Vets," and events such as the Dominion Honor Flight are the most powerful expressions of that mission. Chapter 40-3 honors these returning veterans by supporting them and thereby strengthening brotherhood and community, as defined by the CVMA.

The collaboration of the Virginia Patriot Guard Riders, the Dominion Honor Flight, and MD 40-3 is an example of solidarity in the veteran community. While each organization has its own formality and work, they share the same operating principles: honor and the duty of service and sacrifice. When these organizations come together, they remind everyone that the commitment to veterans does not end when the uniform comes off. It continues through acts of

service, remembrance, and support for one another.

As Diewie, Miklo, and T-Wex represented the chapter, they stood not just for MD 40-3 but for every veteran who believes in the importance of showing up for one another. Their involvement proved the chapter's unwavering commitment to ensuring that all service members are appreciated, memorialized, and honored. The image of riders standing tall, flags waving, and veterans smiling in appreciation epitomized the very reason CVMA continues to be an essential part of the community.

CVMA Chapter 40-3 remains active throughout the region, participating in events that support veterans and their families, and in causes that reflect the values of loyalty, respect, and service. From charity rides and community fundraisers to ceremonies that honor the fallen, the chapter remains deeply committed to giving back to those who have served. Each event is an opportunity to build connections, strengthen community ties, and uphold the proud legacy of those who came before.

Anyone who wishes to have CVMA Chapter 40-3 present at an upcoming event is encouraged to reach out to Joker, the Public Relations Officer, with details or an invitation. The chapter is open for participation in events honoring service members and building unity in the veteran community. Together, through presence and purpose, CVMA Chapter 40-3 continues to ensure that no veteran is ever forgotten, and every act of service is honored with thanks.
