A Day of Honor and Easter Joy at Camp Maria

There are moments that remind us exactly why we do what we do, and today was one of those unforgettable days. The Combat Veterans of CVMA® MD 40-3 had the distinct honor of joining forces with Southern Maryland Vacations 4 Veterans for a very special celebration at the scenic Camp Maria in Leonardtown, MD.

The air was filled with camaraderie and the spirit of service as veterans from the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home were bused out to the waterfront for a day dedicated entirely to them. With Easter just around the corner, the festivities were in full swing, providing a beautiful backdrop for our local heroes to relax and enjoy the appreciation they so richly deserve.

We want to extend a massive "Thank You" and a heartfelt salute to Connie Pennington and her incredible team at Vacations 4 Veterans. The amount of work, heart, and soul they poured into this event was nothing short of awe-inspiring. From the logistics of transportation to the thoughtful activities and decorations, every detail was handled with the utmost care to ensure the veterans had a fantastic time.

For the members of CVMA® MD 40-3, being able to spend time with the residents of Charlotte Hall is a privilege. Whether it was sharing stories over a meal or simply enjoying the peaceful views of the Potomac, the day was a powerful reminder of the bond that unites all veterans, across all generations.

Seeing the smiles on the faces of the Charlotte Hall residents made every bit of effort worth it. It is organizations like Vacations 4 Veterans that help keep our community strong, and we are proud to stand beside them in their mission to provide "peace and quiet" to those who have sacrificed so much.
